A Festive Day In The Life

Sunday, December 10, 2017

The festive season is always my favourite. The weather is autumnal, the drinks are warmer and everything feels so much cosier.

A festive Saturday for me begins with me catching up on homework - usually art and French! The morning is spent catching up on work, like filing my folders and getting the homework done that we have been set this weekend.

Once I've done my homework, it's off to do my makeup. I really want a lipstick that's going to last, so today I opt for my favourite liquid lipstick, my Too Faced Melted Matte in Child Star. It matches with any eye look - which I've predominantly gone for the Naked heat palette today - and I know it will last the whole time I'm out which is important.

Then, putting a headphone in my ear playing a Christmas song, I'm off out into my local town to meet my friends for the local Christmas lights switch on. It's chilly outside, but not supposed to rain, so I wrap up warm with my burgundy corduroy fleece jacket from Stradivarius. This coat is so warm and cosy; I'm so glad I bought it last month because I don't know what I'd do without it!

Yet even while wearing my cosy jacket, it was still absolutely freezing outside, so after I had met my friends we headed to Costa. Aren't their Christmas cups so cute this year? I went for a hot chocolate, just an ordinary one because I'm so disappointed they don't do orange hot chocolates again this year.  I was so obsessed with them last year!

After to-ing and fro-ing across town to meet other friends and drinking my hot chocolate, it was time for the lights switch on. Although we had got caught in a bit of a shower along the way. (typical British weather) it managed to stop for the event itself. The fireworks were beautiful and it all felt so festive.

We stayed in town for a while before heading home - a cosy night was just what I needed! A Lush bath and a read of the latest Vogue magazine sounded perfect to me.

How do you spend your weekends in the lead up to Christmas?
