My Perfect Lip Combo
Thursday, November 24, 2016
If you read a lot of beauty posts on my blog, you may have figured out that one of my favourite makeup brands (if not my all time fave) has to be MAC. Not only does their sleek black packaging look so good in my acrylic makeup storage, their products are amazing and always worth spending money on. Recently I've been loving wearing a certain lip pencil and lipstick from their brand together - it's just too good not to share!
The lipstick: MAC's heavily raved about Velvet Teddy. Those of you who have tried it will agree with me that it is truly amazing, it has to be my favourite lipstick ever. I've owned it a few months now and is still my go-to lipstick. Those of you who don't own it probably wonder if it lives up to the hype - my answer is yes! The shade is a brown-nude that I honestly think suits anyone. It's a matte lipstick but it really isn't drying. As much as I love my Urban Decay Comfort Matte, it can be rather drying on my lips when you compare it to a MAC matte lipstick. I don't think there are any flaws to Velvet Teddy, it's 100% worth the £15.50 and you won't regret purchasing it.
The lip pencil: MAC's Subculture is actually my first ever lip pencil from MAC. I wasn't sure how much better it would be than drugstore ones I've tried but I'm really impressed - it glides on and lasts a really long time. I chose Subculture especially to match Velvet Teddy but also because it works well with other lipsticks I own, such as MAC's Faux. Even if I'm running low on time I still make sure I apply it before lipstick because it makes applying it so much easier and makes sure the colour doesn't bleed.
Paired together the pencil ensures Velvet Teddy lasts a really long time - it's already long-lasting but using Subculture I know it will last all day. The two shades compliment really well and both products are definitely worth the purchase.
Do you own any of MAC's lipsticks or lip pencils? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

How To Get Over A Blogging Slump
Monday, November 21, 2016
We've all been there, I have myself recently - suffered with the dreaded 'bloggers block'. Whether you don't have the time, lack ideas or just generally don't have as much motivation for blogging as you used to, I've compiled some tips I use when I'm really not feeling as into blogging as usual.
Think about why you started blogging in the first place
Remember why you became a blogger in the first place. For example, instead of churning out blog posts weekly just to fit a schedule, I remembered I created my blog for a reason - a space to write about what I want on the internet. Focus on this reason more than posting for the sake of it, even take a break from blogging if necessary.
Chat to your blogging friends
Everytime I chat to my blogging friends, whether it be on a tweet or on a group chat, I remember that I wouldn't be talking to all these amazing people without blogging. That makes blogging so worthwhile and always makes me want to carry on.
Read other people's blogs
Many of my blogging friends have amazing blogs and that's the reason I started talking to them in the first place. Reading other blogs is a great source of inspiration - of course do not copy exactly what they are doing, but take a look at what they're doing over on their blog and get some inspiration from it. Pinterest is another amazing platform for getting inspiration for posts and photos. This being said, don't compare your blog for others, feeling like yours isn't good enough can really knock your blogging confidence - concentrate on how far your blog has come instead of others' success!
Read lists of blog post ideas
Usually when I'm in a blogging slump it's because I'm really low on blog post ideas. Try reading some lists of post ideas (I actually wrote one myself a few months ago!) and compile a list of your own favourites that you can then work from. You may not feel like all of them, but they are wonderful for generating ideas.
Become more organised
Now that it's autumn and the days are a lot darker, it has become so much harder for me to take blog photos when I want. By the time I get home everyday it's too dark to take decent photos and this really drains my motivation. To solve this problem I've set aside time during the weekend to make sure all my photos are taken and have also started scheduling posts days before they need to go up. It always makes me feel proud if I'm ready ahead of time and lessens the pressure of blogging a lot.
Try something different
Have a good look at your own blog and see if it's the reason for your slump. Perhaps you're fed up of your current blog design, or you feel like the way you take your blog photos needs changing up a bit. Even doing something as little as changing your blog's fonts like I have done recently can have a huge difference and make you feel much happier about your blog.

Sixteenth Birthday Haul
Thursday, November 17, 2016
On 6th November 2016 it was my sixteenth birthday. Now, I'll let you into a secret, those of you who have asked - being sixteen doesn't feel any different from fifteen at all! I received some lovely presents for my birthday and I really appreciate them all. I decided I would love to show you all what I received in a blog post - I am of course not bragging, that goes without saying!
The day before my birthday I celebrated it with my friends, who gave my presents then. Joint from two of them I received the Soap and Glory What A Cracker Set, which somes with six mini products such as Clean On Me and Hand Food. I love how they were each packaged individually in crackers - they even came with paper hats and makeup-related jokes!
From my other friends I receieved chocolate (some of my favourites including maltesers and milk tray) and an ear-muffs and travel mug set. The mug says on it 'Open your heart to new adventures' and I think that's really cute.
I then opened my presents from my family on my birthday. From my parents I received a rose gold charm bracelet from Thomas Sabo - I was expecting this one because I was there when they bought it but it's so pretty and I really like it. I'm not even much of a jewellery wearer (apart from a watch) but I've already worn it so many times.
I also received from them a Bare Minerals set which comes with the matte foundation and mineral veil powders, both with pink lids rather than the standard black because they were from the limited edition Icons Collection. They also came along with a pink makeup bag and a brush which is very useful. I then opened up a rose gold basket full of Soap And Glory Products, my mum picked out the items herself rather than getting a set so she was sure I would use everything. I receieved the Rich and Foamous and Sugar Crush body washes, the Clean on Me Shower Jelly, Mist You Madly Fragrance Mist and mini Glad Hair Day shampoo and conditioner.
From my brother I received The Vamps book, which I can't wait to read, along with some Thorntons chocolate. My Auntie bought me some dark chocolate (my favourite!), some fluffy socks which are so perfect for the winter months and a burgundy cardigan from Hollister. I actually thought recently I would have a look for a cardigan when I went shopping because I could really do with a new one and I had no idea she would get me one. It's so cosy and I really like it.
My Grandparents bought me a few items such as a pen, umbrella, Tatty-Teddy bear and also gave me some money alongside so I could choose what I want. As well as the presents I received I'm really appreciative of the money my other family members gave me.
My final present I received was when I went to visit my Auntie the Friday after my birthday. From her I received a notebook from Paperchase which I think is very pretty, I really love the quote on it. She also got me a gift card to spend in John Lewis, especially because they have opened a new store in Leeds, where I was going shopping the day after. On my shopping trip I bought Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette with my voucher and I am very excited to use it!
As I said earlier on in the post I am so grateful for everything I received for my sixteenth birthday. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday, whether that be a tweet, dm or instagram comment. I appreciated it so much and it makes blogging so worthwhile to speak to so many amazing people through it. Thank you.

A/W New Look Picks
Saturday, November 12, 2016
New Look has recently become one of my favourite clothing stores. Although they may not be the best quality the price is so affordable that I can never resist popping in to see what they have this season. Autumn has to be my favourite season for fashion and New Look do autumn incredibly well. I love going into their shops around autumn-time to be greeted by a sea of burgundy clothing, so today I thought I'd round up a few items I love that they have in lately.
Jackets from New Look are always my favourite things to check out in New Look because they always seem to have a great selection for a great price. I chose this longline grey one because I've seen these a lot in blog posts lately and I think they look really good. New Look offer a wide range of colours but I like the grey one best, maybe because it's quite light and all my autumn jackets are dark colours. It would be nice to inject a little colour into my very dark autumnal wardrobe.
Another jacket and an item I actually own myself already is their burgundy padded bomber jacket. I am a huge lover of bomber jackets right now and upon needing a new one for autumn I picked this one. Burgundy goes with a lot of my wardrobe - which is mostly monochrome and burgundy right now if I'm honest - so I've got a lot of wear out if it already and it's very cosy.
Prepare yourself to be surprised, I've never actually owned a pair of ripped jeans. I've only really gotten into them quite recently, and decided I'd quite like a pair of black ones. I spotted these ones in New Look and realised they are just what I'm after - the rips aren't too big and they are also high waisted jeans aka my favourite type.
Sweaters are so affordable in New Look and an item of clothing I love wearing in the autumn and winter months. I love wearing a plain colour one and adding a scarf for extra warmth. I spotted this dark grey one first of all thinking it was really good for the price. I then saw this pink one that I thought was really nice too, I love the dusky rose colour and the white stripes on the sleeves are a nice addition.
I did get a really lovely burgundy tartan scarf in River Island last autumn, and it's so warm that I wear it everyday on the way to school. I came across this scarf in New Look which although it is tartan like my other one, it has much more red and navy tones so it's very different and very nice. It looks just as cosy as my own and I think it would be very warm in the chilly winter months.
New Look boast an amazing range of Chelsea Boots, an item I would really like to purchase this year. I particularly like these ones that don't have the hugest heel (so I can actually feel comfortable in them, haha). I think these boots look really sleek, I did get a pair of boots from Topshop a couple of years back but those have buckles on them and I am really loving this design more.
What A/W fashion trends are you enjoying lately?

Recently I have been on holiday to Portugal and while being there took plenty of snaps of the beautiful scenery and views. You may recognise a few of these from my instagram (@everythingxerin) because I've been posting a lot of them on there over the past couple of weeks.
not technically in Portugal, but the sun rose as we set off on the plane and it was so beautiful.
some boats on the marina, a very relaxing walk.
exploring the town in my white converse.
mini-golfing fun (I also got my nails done on holiday and how pretty was this shade?)
Lagos has some of the cutest shops.
portuguese peonies and palm trees.
back in the converse - I did wear different shoes but apparently only took photos of these ones. the cobbled portuguese streets are so photogenic.
after days of waiting I finally found some ice cream. of course I picked chocolate, it was incredible.
it would be overcast the day I go to the most photogenic little beach village, but that didn't stop me from snapping away at the seaside.
where's your favourite place to go on holiday?
