Sounds Of The Summer | Collab

Sunday, June 26, 2016

Today's post is a collab with one of my best blogging friends, Jade of SimplyJadey. I have been very excited for this collab because her blog is one of my favourites so you should definitely check it out and make sure you give her a follow on her social medias while you're there because she is so lovely!

When we started speaking we realised we had a lot in common, especially music, so we decided we had to write a post about music. We will be sharing 4 artists who's songs we know we are going to listen to a lot over the summer.

Ellie Goulding : Something In The Way You Move - If you have read my blog for a while you will know that I am a huge fan of Ellie and was lucky enough to see her live in a special concert back in February. Since then, I have still been constantly listening to her albums. Something In The Way You Move is her song I think I will be listening to the most during the summer, because it is really upbeat!

DNCE : Cake By The Ocean - As soon as I heard this song I knew it was going to be my song of the summer. It is really summery and catchy, and since I have always liked Joe Jonas since the Camp Rock days, it comes as no surprise I would like this song with his new band.

Coldplay : Hymn For The Weekend - Coldplay's album A Head Full Of Dreams is one I have been getting to know a lot recently. Their music is so summery and uplifting and it makes me feel very happy. Hymn For The Weekend is right at the top of my summer playlist, it is the type of song whenever it plays on the radio I turn it up really loud! I will be listening to their whole album throughout the summer though!

Shawn Mendes : Treat You Better - I was really excited that Shawn Mendes released a new song called Treat You Better earlier this month, just in time for summer. I really love Shawn Mendes' music, it is definitely worth listening to the whole of his Handwritten album if you haven't already. Treat You Better is amazing and I'm really excited for more music from him soon!

Thank you so much to Jade for collabing with me - make sure you check out her post now! What are you going to be listening to this summer?

The 100th Post

Thursday, June 23, 2016

In about a months time I will have posted my first ever blogpost 'An Introductory Blogpost', 2 years ago. The post you are currently reading marks the one hundredth post on my blog.

I'm not exactly why or how I started blogging. I loved to read blogs by Zoella, Tanya Burr and In The Frow. Upon discovering the website 'blogger', one random night in May 2014 set up itseverythingerin.blogspot.co.uk. I posted my first post two months later because I didn't have a clue how to publish a post and I didn't know what I wanted to write.

100 posts ago I had no idea how to blog. I didn't know what Bloglovin' was, I didn't know how to promote my posts on Twitter, I didn't know how to interact with other bloggers and I didn't know how to take a blog photo.

'Blogs are for writing' I thought, 'Why would photos matter?' My blog photos have improved a lot over the past 100 posts. I used to place my products on my carpet and hope for the best. They were a bit blurry and badly filtered. I'm quite proud of how much I've improved, and what I love is that I am always learning. 100 posts from now I will probably laughing at the photos in this post.

Blogging has helped me improve my writing too. I don't ramble half as much now as I used to thank goodness, my second ever post 'August Favourites' makes me cringe how much I waffled on. Blogging has really helped me to find my own writing style and now I enjoy writing just as much as I used to when I was younger.

But my favourite thing about blogging is the community. I am very happy to have gained over 400 followers on Bloglovin' over my past 100 posts, and over 500 Twitter followers. It isn't all about numbers though; I feel so lucky to have formed friendships through blogging, especially with the #teenageteam girls. They are so lovely to chat to and I can't wait to see where our little group takes us.

I look forward to my next 100 posts on my blog, and I thank you for reading and following. Whether this is your first post you've ever read of mine, or you have read many, I appreciate it so much. Blogging is an amazing platform because it gives me a place for me to share my thoughts, and people are actually interested in reading them.

Thank you for reading, and let me know in the comments if you have any ideas of what I should post in my next 100 posts!

Summer Fashion Wishlist

Monday, June 20, 2016

Out of the four topics I post about on my blog: beauty, music, fashion and lifestyle, fashion is the one I write about the least. I really want to change that and blog about fashion a lot more on my blog. Beauty posts are of course a lot easier to photograph, but I feel like I have really neglected the fashion side of my blog. Today I'm going to be sharing my summer fashion wishlist.

1. Hollister Graphic Tee
Hollister's graphic tees are so comfy and easy to wear, I own a few of them but I haven't bought one for a while and I love the ones they have in at the moment, especially this one.

2. Urban Outfitters Blue Striped T-Shirt
I am a huge fan of striped tees at the moment, and this one from Urban Outfitters is really nice. It is the sort of t-shirt I know I would get a lot of wear out of!

3. Hollister Lace Up T-Shirt
I have seen so many people wearing these lace up style tops recently, and although I don't think I could pull it off I love the ones they have in Hollister. They also come in a variety of lovely colours - I don't know which one I would choose!

4. Topshop MOTO Mom Jeans
I love the style of Mom Jeans and I'm always hearing good things about Topshop jeans so I would love to try these. I think Mom jeans are a good alternative to the skinny jeans I'm always wearing.

5. Topshop NASA Tee by Tee & Cake
I love some of the items by Tee & Cake, a brand sold in Topshop, especially this vintage NASA tee. It's something a bit different and I really like it.

6. Pull And Bear Sleeveless Cactus Top
I probably won't be going anywhere with a Pull And Bear for a while sadly but I love the style and fit of this sleeveless top. I also really like this top from Pull And Bear too, the prices of their tops are so affordable to say how nice they are.

7. New Look Black Floral Playsuit
I love wearing playsuits in the summertime because they are very comfortable yet also can be dressed up. New Look have some really lovely ones in at the moment, especially this floral one.

What is on your fashion wishlist at the moment?

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil | Review

Saturday, June 11, 2016

I checked my blogging schedule ready to write today's post. I panicked. I hadn't planned a post for today and I didn't have a clue what to write, until I spotted this month's issue of Elle on the table, which came with a free sample of a new Benefit product, the Goof Proof brow pencil.

I was so excited when I saw that Benefit have a new brow range coming out on 24th June, consisting of brand new packaging and 6 new products, the Goof Proof pencil being one of them. The Elle magazine retailed at £4.10 which is a great price since the pencil is probably worth about £6, being a sample size.

The first thing I noticed about the product is of course the stunning packaging. Benefit have redesigned the packaging of all their brow products, they now come in beautiful silver and I think they look really sleek together. The full sized Goof Proof comes with product on one end and a spoolie on the other, a feature I think is very useful.

Unfortunately you can't choose what shade comes with your magazine, and as a girl with brows that couldn't possibly get any darker, I was quite disappointed to see that I had received the second lightest shade out of 6. Nethertheless, I still tried the product out because I was excited to see what it was like.

I found the Goof Proof pencil so easy to use, which is a good sign since I have never used a product like it before. It is shaped so it has a pointed end to define the brow but also a wide tip which makes filling in so easy. The product glides on and I was very impressed. I think if it was in a darker shade I would love it.

When the full new brow collection comes out on 24th June I will definitely be popping over to my local Benefit counter, although I'm not sure I will purchase a full sized Goof Proof I do have my eye on some other products such as the Precisely, My Brow Pencil.

Have you picked up this month's Elle yet?

3 Favourite Lipsticks

Monday, June 06, 2016

Lipsticks are one of my favourite items of makeup, so today I have decided to write a post all about my 3 favourites!

The first of the lipsticks I will be sharing today is a MAC one, in the shade Patisserie. This is a lustre finish, meaning it's not too long lasting, however it is very moisturising on the lips. It is such a lovely pinky-nude and also the first product I ever bought from MAC, so it has a special place in my heart!

Next up is a Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick from their nude collection in the shade 43. I used to shy away from this shade because it is quite an orange toned nude, however recently I have started wearing it a lot more. I own a lot of pink toned lip products so this is something different in my collection and that is why I love it so much. I definitely want to look for more orange toned nude lipsticks now.
My final lipstick is another one from MAC! MAC lipsticks are my favourite ever, one reason being they have so many different finishes so there is something for all tastes. This one is a satin finish, in the shade Faux. Faux is a lot more pigmented than Patisserie and much longer lasting. It's not quite a matte, and actually feels very creamy and not drying at all.

Swatches of the 3 lipsticks:

As you can see, Patisserie is much more glossy than the other two lipsticks. I love the lustre formula because it feels moisturising on the lips, yet also isn't sticky like a lip gloss. Rimmel's 43 is much more orange toned than the other two, something I have been loving lately. MAC's Faux is very pigmented, because it is a satin finish.

What is your favourite lipstick?

 5 Apps Every Blogger Needs
I love finding new apps to upp my blogging game, so today I've found 5 of my favourites to share with you!

Bloglovin' - Bloglovin' is an essential app for all bloggers, so you should definitely make sure you have this when you start blogging! I find it really easy to follow other bloggers and see when they have posted and I find the collections function really easy to save my favourite posts. You can follow my blog over on Bloglovin' here - I'm almost at 400 followers!

Snapseed - I featured this app when I wrote about how I edit my blog photos a couple of months back. Snapseed is a must-have app for photo editing. Its so easy to use, yet it absolutely transforms my photos. My favourite tool on it is the selective option, so I can brighten or increase the contrast on a particular area of my photo, but not all of it.

Google Keep - A notes app is also an essential in case you get an idea for a blog post on the go, and Google Keep is my favourite. I love it because I can access my notes on my phone, my iPad and also my computer.

Buffer - I'm still working this one out, but many bloggers who use Twitter to promote their blog post find it very useful. Buffer schedules tweets for you, so you can get it ready to tweet about your post hours before. It's a very useful tool if you often forget to promote your posts, and although I haven't used it often because I am afraid of spamming my Twitter feed with my posts, I always have amazing results when I do.

UNUM - If you are Instagram theme obsessed, UNUM will be your new best friend. This app bascially lets you see your Instagram theme ready before you post it. Of course, you might VSCO for this, but UNUM lets you swap photos around really easily, unlike VSCO.

Let me know what apps you use to help your blog in the comments!
