January Favourites
Friday, January 29, 2016
We're already a month through the year! It has gone so quick, I don't know where January has gone! Today I'll be sharing everything I've loved this month!
First of all, Maybelline's brow drama brow mascara. You know those products you think you couldn't live without? This is one of them! I didn't use any products on my brows until late last December and I don't know why I didn't sooner because I really have enjoyed using it.
I'm not a huge lip gloss lover - I prefer lipsticks a lot more, but when I received the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lip gloss for Christmas I was really excited to try it. It smells minty, which I actually quite like, and it makes my lips feel amazing. It is also really long-lasting and not too sticky and my shade, 'Spark Plug', is a gorgeous wearable shade so I think this is the perfect lip gloss for me!
I have also been loving Soap & Glory's Clean On Me shower gel. The scent is my favourite Soap & Glory scent so I was really happy to receive it for Christmas! It is my favourite shower gel I've ever used, it has a built-in body lotion so it feels so creamy and moisturising!
Music wise I have been loving Ellie Goulding's Delirium. I have done a review of Delirium already so you can hear more about that there, but this month the songs I've listened to off it the most have to be Aftertaste, Army and Don't Panic. Delirium has to be my favourite album at the moment, along with 5 Seconds Of Summer's Sounds Good Feels Good which I am still listening to loads!
I have also been loving Little Mix's albums recently. I received Get Weird for Christmas, and after loving that I also purchased Salute when I saw it in HMV, because I never got round to buying it when it came out for some reason?! I have listened to Get Weird the most and I think my favourite songs on it are Black Magic, Secret Love Song and Grown. I have also been loving the song Towers on the Salute album too!

All The Bright Places - Jennifer Niven | Review
Monday, January 25, 2016
"They meet on the ledge of the school bell tower, and so their story begins".
Recently I read the book All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. I was excited to read it because many people gave it great reviews, including Zoe Sugg. The book is described on the cover as 'the story of a girl who learns to live from a boy who wants to die'.
The story is about two school students - Violet Markey, a popular girl devastated by her sister's tragic death, and Theodore Finch, who suffers from mental illness and could be described as being 'fascinated with death'.
When Violet and Finch begin to work on a school project together exploring their state, they go 'wandering' together, and not only discover things about their local area, but also about each other.
I've seen it described as 'The Fault In Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park' and I must agree, the book focuses on the romance story of two troubled teenagers, similar to both books, and also issues of death, similar to The Fault In Our Stars and feeling like you don't fit in, similar to Eleanor and Park. All The Bright Places is definitely a must read for readers of John Green and Rainbow Rowell.
I really did enjoy this book. I couldn't wait to get home to read it everyday, so I think that says a lot about how much I liked it. Although I mentioned earlier I didn't love Finch's character, I really did like Violet and I feel like the story is the journey of her finding herself, and finding who she wants to be friends with, not who she is supposed to be friends with. A feature that I loved about Violet is her connection to writing because I feel like I could relate to her quite a bit.
I definitely recommend this book to you all, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you have read it too!
Clothing & Beauty Haul
Friday, January 22, 2016
Over the past few weeks I have purchased a few clothing items I thought I would round up and share with you in a haul post today.
I bought this black T-shirt from Topshop. It was only £14, which I thought was a great price. I love the crinkled hems because I think it brings a girly touch to the T-shirt. Surprisingly, I also don't have own black T-shirts, so I thought this would be a good edition to my collection.
Also in Topshop, I purchased this Rose Gold necklace from their Freedom jewellery range. I love rose gold jewellery and I think the star charm is really lovely. I don't actually wear jewellery that often but I think because this necklace isn't too long I will wear it on more of a daily basis, and it will also match my rose gold Michael Kors watch I got for Christmas.
A clothing item I got for Christmas that I have not yet shared on my blog is this beautiful burgundy top from Henry Holland at Debenhams. I actually saw this in the store and then my mum bought it for me for Christmas because it is one of my favourite colours and so pretty! I can't wait to wear it, especially when it gets a bit warmer.
I also picked up a few items from Maybelline recently - The Blushed Nudes palette, a palette with the most beautiful shades that I actually reviewed last week. The brow drama brow mascara, which I have been using so much since I bought it - I love it so much. I also purchased a lip pencil in the shade Sweet Pink.
I would love to hear some of your recent purchases in the comments!
Delirium - Ellie Goulding | Review
Friday, January 15, 2016
For Christmas I recieved Ellie Goulding's new album Delirium. After enjoying her latest singles such as On My Mind, I expected her album to be good. However, her album is more than just 'good'. I'd best describe it as 'incredible'. Here is why.
The first actual song on the album (after the intro piece) is Aftertaste. Aftertaste is the perfect start to the album, and one of my favourites of the whole thing. Other songs I really like on the album include Keep On Dancin', Codes, Don't Panic and Paradise.
Army, her latest single, also has to be one of my favourites. The lyrics are beautifully wrote about her best friend and the song is really powerful.
The Deluxe version of Delirium contains 22 songs. I was doubtful that all 22 songs would be good, but each of them bring something to the album. I certainly wouldn't complain that there are too many songs. The only track I am unsure about is I Do What I Love - what I would describe as an angrier version of Taylor Swift's Bad Blood with the loud drum beats, it has definitely grown on me since the first time I listened to it.
In contrast to I Do What I Love, there are quite a few songs on the album with a soft sound such as We Can't Move To This, Heal, and the first single from the album Love Me Like You Do.
Overall, I would say Delirium is one of my favourite albums recently, and also Ellie's best album yet. Let me know an album you have been loving in the comments!
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes | Review
Monday, January 11, 2016
Recently I purchased The Blushed Nudes palette from Maybelline. I have loved the original Nudes palette the past few months, so I was really excited when their pink toned nude palette was finally available in the UK.
The palette includes 12 beautiful shades for only £10, which I think is such a great price for what you get. I'm slightly disappointed there is only 1 matte shade in the palette, wheras in the original nudes palette there are several mattes, but the shimmer shades aren't too glittery so I don't mind too much.
The shades in the palette unfortunately do not have names, but my favourite shades are the second on the left of the top row, which I use all over the lid, and then I also enjoy using the leftmost shade on the bottom row for the crease. I also like to use the shade second on the right of the bottom row in the crease if I feel like a bit more pink.
I love how the Maybelline palettes have a guide on the back as to which shades to use where, for if you are in a rush or need some guidence.
I am also really impressed by the packaging, the colour is really pretty and the palette isn't too large, so is a good size for travel as well.

2015 Beauty Favourites
Monday, January 04, 2016
I cannot believe it is already 2016! To celebrate the new year I am sharing my beauty favourites of the past year.
Bare Minerals Ready To Go Set - I bought this at the airport before I went on holiday in August, and have used it all the time ever since. It is a wonderful palette and I think I will use it into 2016.
Maybelline's The Nudes Eye Shadow Palette - Retailing at only £10, I have reached for my Maybelline The Nudes palette a lot this year. The palette includes a mixture of matte and shimmer shades, one of my favourites has to be the gold shade and also the matte browns.
Benefit Roller Lash - This year Benefit released Roller Lash. I finally got it for my birthday in November and I definitely understand the hype about it. The mascara lifts your lashes so much and I love using it.

MAC Lipstick in the shade Patisserie - How could I not write my 2015 favourites without mentioning my MAC lipstick? I own the gorgeous shade Patisserie and I have loved it this year so much.
Rimmel Nude Collection lipstick in the shade 45 - Another lipstick which I have loved is from Rimmel in the shade 45. I wore this so much and the quality is really good at a really affordable price.
Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Too Cool - I seem to own many lip balms, but none of them do justice to the Baby Lips Dr Rescue lip balms. I am yet to find another lip balm as moisturising as the Baby Lips collection, so I think they are worthy of being in my 2015 favourites.
Zoella Tutti Fruity Shower Gel - Zoe released her Tutti Fruity range this year and I loved it. The scent is fresh and fruity, and the shower gel is a personal favourite of mine in her collection.

5 Simple Ways To Refresh Your Blog This New Year
Friday, January 01, 2016
Happy 2016! To kick off this year I have recently given my blog a complete new look! I am really happy with it and ready to start 2016 with lots of fresh blog post ideas. Today I am sharing 5 easy ways to refresh your blog ready for 2016.
Colour Scheme: Last year, the colour scheme of my blog was lots of purple and pink, so this year I have changed it to mainly monochrome white and black, with touches of green. Changing things as simple as the colour of your blog text can make a huge difference.
Font: Make sure the font of your post text is easy to read, not only make sure it is an easy colour to read but also an easy font. There's nothing worse than when a blog post is written so well, but is impossible to read because they have an illegible font.
Titles: Go through all the posts you have posted in the last year and make sure they have catchy titles so readers will click on them while viewing your blog.
Header: A new header can make your blog feel completely different. I make my headers using Picmonkey, an online photo editor which is so easy to use. If you get bored of your blog header easily like I do, the new year can be the perfect time to make a new one.
About Me Page: How long ago did you update your about page? Rewrite or update your about page ready for the new year.
