Infinity Dreams Award // FAQ

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I was nominated to do the Infinity Dreams Award by Jasmine from AllThatJas! Thank you so much to Jasmine for nominating me! I feel like I haven't had my blog for a really long time so I am so greatful to Jasmine for nominating me. You can check her blog out here: http://allthatjasx.blogspot.co.uk and I really suggest you should, she writes mainly advice type posts and they are amazing!

Rules:
1. Thank and follow the blog that nominated you
2. Tell us 11 facts about you
3. Answer the questions that were set up for you
4. Nominate 11 and make your questions for them

11 Facts about me:

(I'm going to try and make these facts different to the facts from my Introductory Blog Post)
1. My current favourite book is Zoe Sugg's Girl Online
2. I have been to 8 concerts and I'm going to 4 more this year
3. I don't like hot drinks, not even hot chocolate
4. I've been playing piano for about 2 years
5. My eye colour is greeny-brown
6. My favourite scent is the Hollister shop scent
7. I don't have a particular favourite colour, but I like different colours in different seasons, so in summer I love pastel pinks and blues and in autumn I like plum purples and khaki.
8. My birthday is in November
9. My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S4 and I really like it
10. I am short sighted and have to wear glasses when I'm in class so I can see the board.
11. I don't really know what I want to do when I'm older but I'd quite like to do something creative

The Questions Jasmine Asked Me:

1. What Is Your Favourite Film?
I have a few films which I would say are my favourites so I'm not sure really, I'd probably say Frozen and Monsters Inc are my all time favourites but I also watched The Fault In Our Stars recently and really liked it.

2. If You Could Visit Anywhere In The World, Where Would You Go?
I would definitely go to New York! I'm planning to go when I'm a little bit older because I would love to go so much! I've read about it in some books and also recently seeing Gabby (VelvetGh0st) go really inspires me to go; it sounds and looks really magical and breathtaking! So many shops and nice views!

3. When Did You Start Your Blog?
July of 2014, so about 6 months ago

4. What's Your Lucky Number?
6 - I'm born on the 6th and so many things in my life are connected to the number 6.
Danny Jones

5. If you could meet anyone (dead or alive), who would it be?
This is such a hard question! If I had to say one person I would say Danny Jones from the band McFly. I'd love to meet the whole of McFly but if I was to pick one I would have to say Danny because I'd love to hear his accent in person! I would love a photo with him more than anything.

6. Summer or winter?
Can I say autumn?! Autumn is my favourite season, but I do love summer so I'll go for summer. Winter is so boring after Chistmas!
Zoella

7. Who's Your Inspiration?
Zoe Sugg (Zoella) is one of my biggest inspirations. She inspiredme to start a blog for starters and also to be more confident so I would say Zoe.

8. Do you have any pets, and if so what do you have?
I don't have any pets and I'm happy about that as I don't like animals that much! I don't think I could cope with an animal free around my house

9. If there was a movie made of your life, who would you want to play you?
I'm not big on actors/actresses so I don't really know any or have a favourite, so I'm not sure. Maybe someone like Emma Watson? Jennifer Laurence? I haven't watched the Hunger Games but apparently she's good?!

10. Who's Your Favourite Disney Princess?
Anna from Frozen

11.  Sweet or Savoury?
Sweet! Definitely, I'm such a chocolate person!

My Nominations
(Since I have not had my blog for a very long time I won't be able to tag 11 people so I'll tag a few blogs I really like, they are all great blogs so I advise you check them all out!)

Taylor Swift 1989 || Review

Sunday, January 18, 2015

Recently I have been loving Taylor Swift's new album 1989. After hearing that it was a good album I bought it a couple of weeks ago and haven't stopped listening to it.

I was hoping to buy the deluxe version as I did really want the poloroids that came with it but unfortunately they only had the normal version in the shop and I was so desperate to buy it I bought it there and then instead of waiting. First of all, I love the album cover, it looks so pretty! I actually put it on instagram because it is so photogenic.

The album starts with Welcome To New York which is one of my favourites. It's really catchy and it's been said that it has a real 80's vibe to it (not that I know anything about the 80's), but I guess that's because the album is called 1989. Then we go to Blank Space, which of course is Taylor's latest single. I love it and honestly that song persuaded me to buy the album. The next song on the album is Style which is possibly my favourite of the album, it's really dreamy and I hope she chooses to release it as a single. Out Of The Woods is the fouth track on the album and it has such a catchy chorus! The first four songs on the album are probably my favourites, I also love All You Had To Do Was Stay, Bad Blood, Wildest Dreams and I Know Places. I may as well list them all!

My least favourite song on the album which I haven't listened to as much is Shake It Off. Although I have warmed to it a lot since I didn't like it very much at first, it's a bit of a different sound to the rest of the album. Saying that, it's a very catchy song so I think it was a good first single.

I have fallen in love with Taylor Swift's voice, she is such a good singer and performer! The lyrics of the songs of the album, which she wrote of course, are really beautiful and powerful. Her writing is simply stunning.

Overall, 1989 is my favourite album at the moment and I'm looking forward to Taylor bringing out more singles because so many of the songs on the album could be number ones in my opinion. Have you listened to 1989? Comment your favourite songs below and don't forget to follow my blog on bloglovin'.

2014 Favourites

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I realise it's probably a bit late to be talking about what I loved in 2014 (crazily we're already almost halfway through January?!) but after watching Zoella's 2014 favourites video, I've decided to frantically get together a 2014 favourites post, since looking back, there was quite a few things I've loved last year that I want to share.

First of all, my beauty favourites. Last year I used the Maybelline Baby Lips hydrate lip balm so much and I'm sure I'll continue to use it into this year. I've tried a quite a few lip balms, but for me this is the most moisturising lip balm there is and makes my lips feel so good almost instantly! I mentioned it in my August favourites a while ago since I was loving it then and I am still loving it now.
Makeup wise I've also been using the Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer in the latter half of the year and I'll be continuing to use it this year too. For covering spots, which is what I need a concealer for, this is definitely the best concealer for me. It matches with my skin tone so well which I've had trouble finding as I have quite a light skin tone and doesn't come off during the day easily either.
My favourite perfume last year is the Hollister Pure Cali perfume. It's actually quite new as I only got it for my birthday in November but it smells so nice and had to mention it in my 2014 favorites because it without a doubt is my favourite perfume of this year.

My white converse
When I think about what I have worn the most this year I instantly think about my SuperDry hoodies. I have a purple one which I actually got late 2013 and a blue one which I got early 2014 and I have worn them so much this year. I reccommend SuperDry hoodies so much as they are so comfortable and cosy and still great quality a year on so it's definitely worth the money!
My favourite shoes I've worn this year are my white converse. I bought these for summer and I love them so much! Converse are so comfortable and I adore them in white so I've been wearing them so much this year.

Geek Girl Model Misfit by Holly Smale
I have had so many book favourites this year. Although I've not read many, a few books have really stood out to me this year. Girl Online by Zoe Sugg is definitely one of my firm favourites (I've already reviewed it, read my previous post), and I can't go without mentioning the Geek Girl series by Holly Smale, which is so hilarious and a great read, or The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher. These are the books I've read this year that I just couldn't put down and there are more!

The Vamps
As for music, I have loved so much last year. I went to some incredible concerts last year (and I'm going to more this year which I'm so excited about). The Vamps have become my favourite band this year, seeing them in concerts was one of my year highlights as they are so good live and their album is fantastic, I can't fault it.  Other artists' music I have loved last year is Ed Sheeran X, I listened to that so much in the summer and still am now and fell in love with One Direction all over again last year when they brought our Four! The Script's new album No Sound Without Silence has been played so much recently too and can't wait to see it played live in concert in about 7 weeks!

Zoella
2014 for me has been the year of YouTubers. Last year I properly got into watching my favourite YouTubers. I subscribed to Zoe, Alfie and Joe in January 2014 and watching them get so much success this year, from being on TV shows to bringing out books makes me feel so proud to be a fan of theirs. Throughout the year I have discovered so many amazing YouTubers and this year wouldn't have been as good without them.

So that is all my favourite thing of 2014! Thank you for reading, please comment below what your favourite things have been last year and make sure you follow my blog too so you know when I make a new post.

Girl Online - Zoe Sugg || Book Review

Tuesday, January 06, 2015

One of the things I got for Christmas was Zoe Sugg's book, Girl Online. I wanted to read it just because it is Zoe's book but I can honestly say it's my favourite fiction book I've ever read. That's not just because it's Zoe's book, since it's the type of book I'm into anyway, but the storyline is amazing. I'm going to try to write this review with no spoilers to make it fair for the people who haven't yet read the book but the ending is unexpected and that's one of the reasons I like it so much.

(5) Tumblr

In the book, the main character Penny, who's point of view the story comes from, meets an American boy called Noah. We know from the blurb that he has a secret. It isn't revealed until quite far towards the end of the book so it made me keep reading until I found out what happens and I think that's what makes a good book for me. Sometimes I know something is going to happen to the characters but I don't know what's going to happen and I can't stop reading the book until I find out what happens to them. I read Girl Online in less than a day because I couldn't put it down. That alone proves Zoe's book is a good one, because oftenly I just get bored reading some books but Zoe's book kept me reading until the end.

My Girl Online book
There was a lot of things in the press about Zoe's book being ghostwritten. I'm not going to say much about it in my review I found it horrible that the press would put Zoe down like that as you can tell from her videos she is the lovliest, most down to earth person. Zoe said she got help from Pengiun as it was her first book but to be honest I actually think the book was, at least mostly, wrote by Zoe herself. A couple of things are said in the book like them going to Choccywoccydoodah - a real café in Brighton that Zoe visited in one of her vlogs, and then when Penny does her hair in a milkmaid braid - a hairstyle Zoe did a tutorial on. These are little things but personal things (and there are more which I can't think of at the top of my head) which make me think that Zoe wrote the book. And even if she didn't, I'm going to believe she did.

I personally don't suffer with anxiety but if you do, Girl Online is definitely a book for you to read. Penny has panic attacks and the way that she deals with them I think would really help someone with anxiety.
I started my blog before I read Girl Online but the success Penny got with her blog really inspired me to blog more as well and that's probably why I've been trying to post a lot more recently! I don't expect to get anywhere near the following Penny got with her blog with mine but we'll see!

I definitely reccommend you read Zoe's book, even if you're not a huge fan of her videos because it is an incredible book. Have you read Girl Online? Let me know your thoughts below!

What I Got For Christmas || 2014

Friday, January 02, 2015

Hey guys! A few days ago it was the best day of the whole year... Christmas of course! I thought it would be a cute idea to show you all what presents I got. I'm not bragging about what I got as I am grateful for everything I have received this year. I always love watching and reading everyone's Christmas hauls so I thought it would be interesting to do one too. I won't list everything I got but my favourites.

Zoella Beauty
First of all for Christmas I got some of Zoe's beauty range. From my mum and dad I got the candle and the bath soak and from my auntie I got the blue beauty bag and the body lotion. They all smell so lovely, especially the bath soak and I am really enjoying using them! I'm planning to do a review of them soon after I hopefully use some of my Christmas money to get the body mist and bath fizzers.

Girl Online
Something I was really excited to get for Christmas was Zoe Sugg's book Girl Online and I was so happy when I got it. I actually finished it in one day by the night of Christmas Day, it was so good I could not stop reading! I'm thinking of doing a review of Girl Online very soon too so let me know if you would like that!

SuperDry Hoodie & Vest
My favourite clothing shop is SuperDry so I was so happy this year to receive 2 items of clothing from SuperDry. I got a hoodie which I absolutely love, it is so comfortable! My mum bought me this because my other two SuperDry hoodies are zip-up but this one isn't so it's a bit different and I love the colours of it too. I also got a vest which I am so excited to wear in the summer.

Beats Headphones
One of my favourite things I got are my new beats headphones. My mum and dad had dropped hints that I might get them so I was so excited. They are wireless and you can control the sound (pause, play, skip etc.) on the headphones themself so I found that so good. They are silver, the colour I wanted so I was really happy about that. The sound quality of them is amazing and the only thing I don't like about them is they are heavier than the normal ones but I think I can get used to that.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
I had asked for Olly Murs' new CD and I am so happy that I now have it. I haven't listened to it all yet but I love Up, his new single with Demi Lovato so if the rest of the album is as good as that it will be a very good album. Maybe I'll do a review of his album if you would like it.

Jack Wills Lip Balms & Nail Polishes
I had asked for some of the Jack Wills range in boots and I got the mug and socks for my birthday so for Christmas from my auntie I received the lipbalm trio and set of 2 nail polishes. The lipbalms feel and smell really nice and the nail polishes are lovely colours.

DVDS
For Christmas I got two DVDs, The Fault In Our Stars and One Direction: Where We Are Live From San Siro. I read The Fault In Our Stars book a while back and loved it and I have been saying I want the One Direction dvd for ages so I was so happy to get both of them and I can't wait to watch them.

Seventeen Lip Glosses
From my nan I got this set off 6 mini lip glosses by Seventeen.
They are lovely shades, I especially the lighter three and I can't wait to use them. I also really love the Seventeen packaging.

McBusted Canvas
Possibly my favourite present was one I certainly wasn't expecting... my McBusted canvas! My mum got me this big canvas with lots of photos on which we took when we saw them in concert and I love it so much, it was a complete suprise and I can't wait to hang it on my wall!

So these are my favourite things I got for Christmas! I hope you enjoyed reading this blogpost, I always enjoy reading what other people bought. Speak soon!

Happy 2015!

Thursday, January 01, 2015

This year feels like it has gone so fast! I still feel like it's the summer - for me the last half of the year has been a complete blur and I don't know where the weeks are disappearing to. Happy 2015 everyone!

For 2015 I have decided to set myself a few goals. At the end of the year I'm going to look back and see if I acheieved any:

1❥  Be more confident
2❥  Speak to more people
3❥  Meet The Vamps/McFly (this is probably my hardest goal!)
4❥  Write more blogposts
5❥  Get better posture and have a straighter back
6❥  Always wear a smile
7❥  Have fun and make 2015 the best year yet

Have you made any goals or resolutions for 2015? Let me know what you are going to try to do this year below. One thing I'm definitely going to do is write more blogposts, I have a few planned for you and What I Got For Christmas is going up very soon (I'm sorry it's so late, I've been away so not been able to take photos!)
